Midwest Food Resources became a non profit organization in September of 1997. The first collective kitchen started cooking together in the Battlefords in November of 1997. Midwest Food Resources expanded to Lloydminster and Meadow Lake in the fall of 1998. Other programs were developed as requested by community members and program participants.
Partnerships:
We have developed four types of partnerships to address food security in our communities:
- Providing information and training to others
- Sharing information, support, facilities, and resources with us
- Working together in joint activities
- Participating in community development actions and groups
We can do more with your help. Participate as a customer, a volunteer, a member of our board; become a trained Collective Kitchen leader. We are a non-profit organization with charitable status. We provide a tax receipt for individual and corporate donations. Your donation allows us to grow and meet our community requests for food knowledge and self sufficiency.
